OGV (Ogg Video / Theora)
OGV adalah format video open-source yang menggunakan codec Theora dalam kontainer Ogg. Format ini dipromosikan sebagai alternatif gratis untuk H.264 untuk video HTML5 tetapi sebagian besar telah digantikan oleh VP9, AV1, dan WebM.

OGV menggunakan format bitstream Ogg dengan video Theora (berbasis DCT, mirip VP3) dan biasanya audio Vorbis. Theora mendukung hingga 1080p tetapi menawarkan efisiensi kompresi yang lebih rendah daripada codec modern.
Riwayat
Theora dikembangkan oleh Xiph.Org Foundation berdasarkan codec VP3 dari On2, dirilis sebagai open source pada tahun 2002. Firefox dan Chrome mendukung Theora pada HTML5 awal, tetapi adopsi terhenti karena H.264 dan VP9 mendominasi.
