FLVビデオ

FLVはAdobe Flashプラットフォーム向けのビデオフォーマットで、かつてWebビデオの支配的なフォーマットでした（YouTube初期、Newground、Flash動画サイト）。Flash Playerの廃止（2020年）により、現在はレガシーフォーマットとなっています。

.OGGを使うタイミング

FLVは使用しないでください。レガシーFLVファイルはFFmpegでffmpeg -i input.flv -c:v libx264 -c:a aac output.mp4としてMP4に変換してください。

技術的詳細

FLVはFLVヘッダー + タグシーケンスで構成されます。各タグにはタイプ（オーディオ/ビデオ/スクリプト）、タイムスタンプ、データが含まれます。ビデオコーデック：Sorenson Spark（H.263）、VP6、H.264。オーディオ：MP3、AAC、Nellymoser。F4V（MP4ベース）はFLVの後継でしたが、やはりFlashとともに衰退しました。

歴史

MacromediaはFlash MX（2002年）でFLVフォーマットを導入しました。YouTubeは2005年の初期にFLVを使用していました。AdobeはFlash Playerを2020年12月31日に正式に終了しました。
