Stereo Imaging
Techniques for widening, narrowing, or repositioning the perceived stereo field of an audio mix.
Detalhe técnico
Audio stereo imaging configurations range from mono (1 channel) to immersive formats like Dolby Atmos (object-based, up to 128 tracks). Stereo (2 channels) creates spatial width through inter-aural differences. 5.1 surround (6 channels: L, R, C, LFE, LS, RS) is the cinema standard. For web delivery, stereo MP3/AAC is standard; for podcasts, mono at 64-128 kbps is recommended to reduce file size without noticeable quality loss since spoken word doesn't benefit from stereo separation.
Exemplo
``` Audio channel configurations: Mono (1.0) — 1 channel — podcasts, phone calls Stereo (2.0) — 2 channels — music, web audio Surround (5.1) — 6 channels — cinema, gaming Atmos (7.1.4) — 12 channels — immersive audio File size impact: stereo = 2× mono at same bitrate Podcast tip: mono 64 kbps ≈ stereo 128 kbps quality ```
