PDF (Portable Document Format)

PDF adalah standar universal untuk berbagi dokumen yang tampil sama di setiap perangkat dan sistem operasi. Detail Teknis

PDF menggunakan model halaman berbasis PostScript dengan objek dalam aliran konten terkompresi. Setiap halaman adalah kanvas mandiri dengan koordinat teks, path, dan gambar. Tabel cross-reference memungkinkan akses acak ke objek mana pun tanpa parsing sekuensial.

Riwayat

Salah satu pendiri Adobe, John Warnock, meluncurkan proyek Camelot pada tahun 1991 untuk menciptakan format kantor tanpa kertas. PDF 1.0 dirilis pada tahun 1993, dan spesifikasinya menjadi standar terbuka ISO (ISO 32000) pada tahun 2008.
