Creating Book Cover Design Variations
Publishers prepare book cover designs in multiple formats for print, e-book, audiobook, and social media promotion. A single cover concept needs to be adapted for vastly different aspect ratios and resolutions.
Workflow
- Finalize the cover design at the highest resolution needed
- Use the Image Resizer for all required versions: print (front/back/spine), Kindle (1600x2560), audiobook (3000x3000), social (1080x1080)
- Use the Image Cropper to adjust composition for each aspect ratio
- Use the Image Compressor to meet each platform's file size limits
- Convert to required formats (TIFF for print, JPEG for digital, PNG for transparency)
- Deliver all cover versions to the production and marketing teams
